After Massage Tips - Maximise the Benefits of your Massage
  • Drink plenty of water! Massage increases the flow of blood around your body and releases toxins at the cellular level, it is therefore essential to increase your intake of water for at least a couple of days after your massage.
  • Rest! Allow your body to enjoy the benefits of your massage and take it easy for a couple of days; especially if it has been a long time since your last massage or if your muscles have been stressed.
  • Limit alcohol/caffeine after the massage! We recommended that you limit the amount of alcohol and caffeine after a massage as these contribute to the dehydration of your body - remember, water, water and more water.
  • Eat a light meal! Don't over burden you system with a heavy meal and may reduce the effects of your massage.
  • Book regular massages! Research indicates that it takes approximately three (3) weeks for an adhesion (knot) to develop; regular massage will assist in the reducing the development of these adhesions. Post massage muscle soreness will be reduced the more regular massages are undertaken.
